This fast tip demonstrates how to use an Adobe Acrobat action to perform searches across multiple PDF files, highlight all of the terms and extract the pages that have hits highlighted.
The highlight colors available to use in the javascript are listed below:
color.transparent
color.black
color.white
color.dkGray
color.gray
color.ltGray
color.red
color.green
color.blue
color.cyan
color.magenta
color.yellow
In a previous tutorial, I demonstrated how to search and highlight across multiple PDFs. Instructions for changing the highlight color in the javascript are included in that tutorial.

Thank you – LOVE IT!!!
Me too, I was happy that Veronica shared it with us.
Very good. It would be interesting to have each highlight bookmarked so that instead of extracting the pages with hits, you can navigate the bookmarked pages. Reason being that its sometimes good to have the context of the preceding pages for a page with hits.
Its a bit annoying how slow Acrobat is in doing these tasks. I think we’ve done something similar with DT Search, can’t remember though if we were able to highlight the hits in the PDFs.
